INTRODUCTION:
Boston and its surrounding neighborhoods have more than their share of farmers markets. Every day of the week you can find them scattered all over the city.
Farmers markets are a great way to enjoy summer. You can mingle with other people in your nefoodighborhood as you pick up some delicious summer tomatoes for your salad, sweet corn to put on the grill, and tasty berries to snack on while supporting local farmers and becoming more engaged with our food system.
Below I've listed four of my favorite farmers markets in Boston (in no particular order).
1. Union Square Farmers Market--Saturday Morning 9am-1pm
I like the Union Square Farmers Market because it's close to my house. I like waking up early in the morning and biking over to the market to pick up some veget

ables for whatever I want to cook that weekend. Non-produce vendors include Taza Chocolate, Iggy's Bread, plus local bakeries and hard cider makers! Afterwards, you can pop over to Union Square Donuts (but watch out for the line).
2. SoWa Market--Sundays 11am-3pm
SoWa isn't just a farmers market, but an art market and a vintage market with a parking lot full of food trucks down the street. This market has tons of vendors, plus Grillo's pickles, Where Pigs Fly Bakery, and Union Square Donuts if the food trucks aren't enough for you.
3. Copley Square--Fridays 12-5pm
This one is great because of its location. For everyone who works near Copley Square (which is a lot of people) this is a great market to visit if you don't particularly want to visit a market on the weekend. Try the maple mint tea from a vendor on the far side!
While those are my three favorites, I definitely haven't explored all of the farmers markets in Boston. You pretty much can't go wrong with farmers markets, so share your favorites in the comments below!
